Yes, you can :) Columbia's Visiting Scholars tend to be international students, but I think that if you talk to the administration, they'd be really open to working something out. (In fact, I bet that Stanford would talk to them on your behalf).

That said: Come! We'd love to have you, and there's a little Penn community here.

Actually, scratch that: There are also Visting Students.

Current law students who wish to take upperclass courses at Columbia but do not plan to matriculate for the Columbia degree should complete Visiting Student applications by July 15 or December 1. A significant number of visiting students (5-10) are accepted as nonmatriculants each year.
